Real Projects. Real Decisions. Real Outcomes.
This isn’t a highlight reel.
These are examples of how projects actually operate and where cost, risk, and alignment are gained or lost.
INSTITUTIONAL RETROFIT — ACTIVE CAMPUS ENVIRONMENT
Context:
$1M+ Abatement | Mechanical System Overhaul | Full Commissioning
What Was Done:
Extensive demolition and hazardous material abatement within an actively occupied college facility. Coordinated multi-trade mechanical upgrades, and complex system tie-ins. Commissioned start to finish.
Why It Matters:
Almost all remodels experience unforeseen conditions discovered during construction. Money spent identifying these early pays off 10 fold in the long run.
Field Insight:
Whatever your change order budget is, add a little more.
CUSTOM ICF HOME — BREAKDOWN BETWEEN PLAN AND FIELD
Context:
3-story custom home with a basement sports court. Built using insulated concrete form walls and foundations.
What was Done:
The wrong thickness of wood reinforcement used to hold forms was installed at this location. The plan was not clearly communicated to the crew and oversight was limited.
Why It Matters
As a result, larger fasteners were required, more expensive material was used, and the material intended for this application remained unused. Budget integrity depends on field alignment.
Field Insight:
If the plan doesn’t reach the crew, the budget pays for it.
TILT-UP COMMERCIAL STRUCTURE — STRUCTURAL DISCIPLINE
Context:
Tilt-up panel construction depends on coordinated crane operation, slab prep, embed placement, and strict timing.
What Was Done:
Outdated revision of drawing was used due to poor communication and as a result construction details were missed. Tens of thousands of dollars in avoidable costs, before walls even went up.
Why It Matters
Once panels are in motion, there is no improvisation.
Field Insight:
Precision limits overruns and protects the schedule.
